Job Description: Project Management - Fire Prevention Support Services
Cherokee provides labor, supervision, management and administration resources necessary for providing fire prevention support services to the NIH’s Division of the Fire Marshal, Security and Emergency Response Programs. This task includes the survey and evaluation of various facilities at the NIH main campus located in Bethesda, MD, the NIH Animal Center, Poolesville, MD and several other NIH facilities located in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.
Cherokee’s specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Annual Facility Fire Inspections, Daily Unscheduled Special Inspections, Hot Work Permit Inspections, Tent/Trailer/Temporary Facility Inspections, and Public Assembly Event Inspections. All inspections are conducted in accordance with local, state and federal regulations, good industry work practices and NIH guidelines.
Quarterly Unannounced Fire Drills are completed for day/evening/night shift in accordance with directives of The Joint Commission (formerly the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)).
Fire Safety Training for Clinical Center Departments and Fire Safety Awareness Training for various groups within the NIH community.
Fire Protection Displays are prepared, setup, and staffed in accordance with public safety events specified by NIH.
Fire Safety Media Release Articles are generated for publication in NIH media.
Fire Scene Investigation support services are made available 24/7/365. Fire Scene Investigation includes on-site investigations, crime scene determination, on-site documentation, investigation team participation, and litigation testimony.
